34 1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
35 all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international
36 co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and
37 in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports,
38 Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). Their
39 preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with

73 a) it is adjusted with respect to IEC 60704-1:2021;
74 b) stabilizing period and check of the battery status has been redefined;
75 c) position of the appliance during test redefined.

84 The relevant text of IEC 60704-1:2021 as amended by this standard establishes the test code
85 for shavers, hair clippers or trimmers.
86 This Part 2-8 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in IEC 60704-1:2021, so as
87 to establish the test code for shavers, hair clippers or trimmers. When a particular subclause of
88 IEC 60704-1:2021 is not mentioned in this Part 2-8, that subclause is applicable as far as
89 reasonable. Where this standard states "addition", "modification" or "replacement", the relevant
90 requirements, test specifications or explanatory matter in IEC 60704-1:2021 shall be adapted
91 accordingly.
92 Subclauses, tables and figures that are numbered starting from 101 are additional to those in
93 IEC 60704-1:2021.
94 Unless notes are in a new subclause or involve notes in IEC 60704-1:2021, they are numbered
