Size designation of clothes - Part 1: Anthropometric definitions for body measurement
ISO 8559-1:2017 provides a description of anthropometric measurements that can be used as a basis for the creation of physical and digital anthropometric databases. The list of measurements specified in this document is intended to serve as a guide for practitioners in the field of clothing who are required to apply their knowledge to select population market segments and to create size and shape profiles for the development of all garment types and their equivalent fit mannequins. The list provides a guide for how to take anthropometric measurements, as well as give information to clothing product development teams and fit mannequin manufacturers on the principles of measurement and their underlying anatomical and anthropometrical bases.
Annex A describes the use of the pictogram (standardized and modified) based on the selection of most usual body dimensions used for clothing size designation.
ISO 8559-1:2017 is intended to be used in conjunction with national, regional or international regulations or agreements to ensure harmony in defining population groups and to allow comparison of anthropometric data sets.

La liste des mesures spécifiées dans le présent document est destinée à servir de guide aux professionnels du secteur de l'habillement qui ont pour tâche d'appliquer leurs connaissances afin de sélectionner des segments de marché parmi la population et de créer des profils de tailles et de formes en vue du développement de tous types de vêtements et des mannequins correspondants. La liste fournit un guide sur la manière de prendre des mesures anthropométriques, et donne des informations aux équipes de développement de produits vestimentaires et aux fabricants de mannequins sur les principes de mesurage ainsi que les bases anthropométriques et anatomiques sous-jacentes.
L'Annexe A décrit l'emploi du pictogramme (normalisé et modifié) fondé sur la sélection des mesures corporelles les plus couramment utilisées pour la désignation des tailles de vêtements.
L'ISO 8559-1:2017 est destiné à être utilisé conjointement à la réglementation ou aux accords nationaux, régionaux ou internationaux afin d'assurer l'harmonisation dans la définition des groupes de population et de permettre la comparaison des ensembles de données anthropométriques.

Ta dokument vsebuje opis antropometričnih meritev, ki se lahko uporabljajo kot podlaga za ustvarjanje fizičnih in digitalnih antropometričnih zbirk podatkov. Seznam meritev, navedenih v tem dokumentu, je namenjen za uporabo kot vodnik za izvajalce na področju oblačil, od katerih se zahteva, da uporabijo svoje znanje za izbiro tržnih segmentov prebivalstva in ustvarijo in oblikujejo profile za razvoj vseh vrst oblačil in njihove ustrezne anatomske lutke. Seznam vključuje napotke, kako izvajati antropometrične meritve, ter informacije za ekipe za razvoj oblačil in proizvajalce anatomskih lutk o načelih meritev ter njihovih anatomskih in antropometričnih zasnovah.
Dodatek A opisuje uporabo piktograma (standardizirani in spremenjeni) na podlagi izbire najpogostejših telesnih mer, ki se uporabljajo določitev velikosti oblačil.
Ta dokument je namenjen za uporabo v povezavi z nacionalnimi, regionalnimi in mednarodnimi predpisi ali sporazumi, da se zagotovi usklajenost pri opredelitvi skupin prebivalstva in omogoči primerjava antropometričnih podatkovnih sklopov.
