This draft amendment prAA, if approved, will modify the European Standard prEN IEC 60335-2-7:2025; it is submitted to CENELEC
members for enquiry.
Deadline for CENELEC: 2025-12-05.

It has been drawn up by CLC/TC 61.

If this draft becomes an amendment, CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.

This draft amendment was established by CENELEC in three official versions (English, French, German).
A version in any other language made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to
the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.

19 prEN IEC 60335-2-7:2025/prAA:2025 includes the following significant technical changes:
20 — Introduce requirements and instruction for children, vulnerable people and domestic animals;
21 — Rusting test for product to be used outdoor;
22 — Introduce mechanical test set-up clarifications;
23 — Introduce construction requirements to prevent flooding;
24 — Introduce clarification for back-syphonage and fluid category;
25 — Delete annex related to washing machine with power driven wringer.
26 This document is read in conjunction with prEN IEC 60335-2-7:2025.
27 The numbering system for European clauses, subclauses, notes, tables, figures and annexes that are additional
28 to those in the IEC standard are prefixed with the letter “Z”.
29 This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CENELEC by the European
30 Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA State subsequently approves these requests for its Member

73 appliance by a person responsible for their safety. This appliance may be used by children from the age of

75 that they do not play with the appliance.

108 “The fluid category of the appliance shall be in accordance with Clause ZA.2 and Table ZB.1 of
109 EN 61770:2009+AC:2011+A11:2018+A1:2019+A12:2022+AC:2023+A13:2025 .

112 At the end of the list item starting with “the loss is less …” after the semi colon, add “or”.
113 Add the following new subclause:
114 “22.Z101 Appliances shall be so designed that they prevent flooding as a result of:
115 — uncontrolled water flow to the appliance, or
116 — a blocked drain outlet.
117 NOTE For the purpose of this requirement, safety devices not within the main enclosure of the appliance are also
118 included, for example those incorporated in the inlet hose, provided that the devices are fixed to the appliance and cannot
119 be removed without the aid of a tool.
120 Compliance is checked by inspection and by the tests of 22.Z101.1 and 22.Z101.2.
121 The appliance is operated at rated voltage and under normal operation conditions, placed on a horizontal
122 surface.
123 The outlet (drain hose) is arranged in accordance with the instructions. The hose height is to be the maximum
124 permissible according to the instructions.
125 During the tests, not more than 0,5 l of water shall flow out from the appliance and the appliance shall show no
126 trace of water on parts that could impair compliance with Clause 29.
