This document (prEN IEC 60335-2-62:2025/prAA:2025) has been prepared by CLC/TC 61 “Safety of
household and similar electrical appliances”.
This document is currently submitted to the Enquiry.
The following dates are proposed:
• latest date by which the existence of this document (doa) dav + 6 months
has to be announced at national level
• latest date by which this document has to be (dop) dav + 12 months
implemented at national level by publication of an
identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards (dow) dav + 36 months
conflicting with this document have to be withdrawn (to be confirmed or
modified when voting)
This document will modify prEN IEC 60335-2-62:2025.
prEN IEC 60335-2-62:2025/prAA:2025 includes the following significant technical modifications:
— introduce requirements and instruction for children, people with disabilities and domestic animals.
The numbering system for European clauses, subclauses, notes, tables, figures and annexes that are
additional to those in the IEC standard are prefixed with the letter “Z”.
This document is read in conjunction with prEN IEC 60335-2-62:2025.

1 Modification to the Introduction
Delete in the fourth paragraph the words “manufacturer's”
Addition:
With European amendment A11, EN IEC 60335-2-62:2022 is superseded.
This European amendment A11 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses of the standards
below:
— EN IEC 60335-1:2023+A11:2023+A12:2025 (Part 1)
— EN IEC 60335-2-62:2025 (Part 2)
2 Modification to Clause 1, “Scope”
Replace the fourth paragraph starting with “ As far as is practicable,…” up to “… by these types
of appliances” with the following:
“This document deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards of intended use presented by appliances
that are encountered by all persons and domestic animals.
Convert the paragraph starting with “Attention is drawn to the…” into a note.
3 Modification to Clause 3 “ Terms and definitions”
In the modification to 3.1.9 sentence starting with “Appliances intended to be filled automatically…”,
delete “by the manufacturer
