This document specifies methods for measuring return loss and respectively voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), in the required frequency range of coaxial cables.
The return loss is used for quantifying the level of the reflected signal due to an impedance mismatch between the cable and the reference impedance, and due to structural variations of the impedance along the cable.
It is intended to be used together with EN 3475-100 and EN 50289-1-11:2016.
NOTE In particular, correction procedures detailed in EN 50289-1-11:2016, Annex B are important to minimize negative effects of cable preparation in the purpose of high frequency range measurements.

Dieses Dokument legt Verfahren zur Messung der Rückflussdämpfung bzw. des Stehwellenverhältnisses (VSWR) im erforderlichen Frequenzbereich von koaxialen Leitungen fest.
Die Rückflussdämpfung wird zur quantitativen Bestimmung des Pegels des reflektierten Signals aufgrund einer Impedanzfehlanpassung zwischen der Leitung und der Bezugsimpedanz und aufgrund von strukturellen Impedanzschwankungen entlang der Leitung angewendet.
Es soll zusammen mit EN 3475-100 und EN 50289-1-11:2016 angewendet werden.
ANMERKUNG Insbesondere sind die in EN 50289-1-11:2016, Anhang B, genau angegebenen Korrekturverfahren wichtig, um die negativen Auswirkungen der Vorbereitung der Leitung bei Messungen im Hochfrequenzbereich auf ein Mindestmaß zu verringern.
