This draft amendment is submitted to CEN members for unique acceptance procedure. It has been drawn up by the Technical Committee
CEN/TC 151.
This draft amendment A1, if approved, will modify the European Standard EN 12629-1:2000. If this draft becomes an amendment, CEN
members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this amendment
into the relevant national standard without any alteration.

This draft amendment was established by CEN in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made
by translation under the responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the CEN Management Centre has the same
status as the official versions.

This document (EN 12629-1:2000/FprA1:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 151
“Construction equipment and building material machines - Safety”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This document is currently submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the
European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s).
For relationship with EU Directive(s), see informative Annexes ZA and B, which are integral parts of this
document.
1 Modifications to the Foreword

2 Modifications to the Introduction
First paragraph, change the reference as follows:
Replace "EN 1070:1998” with "EN ISO 12100”.

3 Modifications to Clause 1 (Scope)
Sub-clause 1.2, replace the existing text with the following:
"This European Standard deals with hazards listed in Clause 4 which can arise during the operation and
maintenance, including the interfaces, of the machines for the manufacture of constructional products
from concrete and calcium silicate, when carried out as intended and under conditions of misuse which
are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.
Part 2 to 8 of this standard give additional specific requirements and therefore have to be applied together
with this part."
Sub-clause 1.3, up-date the references as follows:
Replace "prEN 12151:1995" with "EN 12151:2007".
Delete sub-clause 1.4.
Sub-clause 1.5, up-date the references as follows:
Renumber “1.5” into “1.4”.
Replace "prEN 12629-2 to -8" with "EN 12629-2 to -8".
Add the following new sub-clause 1.5:
"1.5 This document is not applicable to machines for the manufacture of constructional products from
concrete and/or calcium silicate, which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document
by CEN."

6 Modifications to Clause 5 (Safety requirements and/or measures)
Headline, modify as follows:
Replace “Safety requirements and/or measures” with “Safety requirements and/or protective measures”.
First paragraph, replace with the following text:
"Machinery shall comply with the safety requirements and/or protective measures of this clause. In
addition, the machine shall be designed according to the principles of EN ISO 12100 for relevant but not
significant hazards which are not dealt with by this document."
