This European Standard applies to electronic control equipment for heating systems with water as the heating medium and a flow temperature up to 120 °C. The signals can be processed by using either analogue or digital techniques, or both. This control equipment controls and regulates the distribution and/or the generation of heat in relation to the outside temperature and other reference variables and time. Safety requirements on heating systems remain unaffected by this standard. The dynamic behaviour of the valves and actuators are not covered in this standard.

Die Signale können sowohl in Analog- als auch in Digitaltechnik verarbeitet werden. Diese Meß-, Steuer- und Regeleinrichtungen dienen zur Steuerung und Regelung der Wärmeverteilung und/oder -erzeugung in Abhängigkeit von der Außentemperatur und anderen Führungsgrößen und der Zeit.

La présente norme s'applique aux équipements de régulation électroniques pour les systèmes de chauffage à l'eau comme fluide caloporteur, avec une température de départ inférieure à 120 °C. Les signaux peuvent être traités par les techniques analogiques ou numériques. Ces équipements de régulation servent à la commande et au réglage de la distribution et/ou de la génération de chaleur, en fonction de la température extérieure et/ou d'autres variables de référence et le temps. Les impératifs de sécurité concernant les systèmes de chauffage ne sont pas affectés par la présente norme.
