Le présent Rapport Technique présente la vue d'ensemble de la normalisation internationale dans le domaine de la spécification géométrique des produits (GPS). Il explique le concept GPS et fournit un schéma directeur sur les normes existantes et à établir relevant de la responsabilité de l'ISO/TC 3, l'ISO/TC 10/SC 5 et l'ISO/TC 57. Il mentionne aussi des normes et travaux de normalisation GPS qui sont en dehors du domaine de responsabilité des comités (TCs) mentionnés ci-dessus, afin de compléter l'information sur les normes internationales GPS.
