Advanced technical ceramics - Terms, definitions and abbreviations
This European Prestandard is a vocabulary which provides a list of terms and associated definitions which are typically used for advanced technical ceramic materials, products, applications, properties and processes. The document contains, in separate lists, those abbreviations which have found general acceptance in scientific and technical literature; they are given together with the corresponding terms and definitions or descriptions.
NOTE 1 This prestandard does not include terms which, though used in the field of advanced technical ceramics, are of a more general nature and are also well known in other fields of technology.
NOTE 2 A list of some European Standards, European Prestandards and Draft European Standards of CEN Technical Committee 184 "Advanced technical ceramics" containing terms defined in this European Prestandard, is given in the Bibliography.
Hochleistungskeramik - Begriffe, Definitionen und Abkürzungen
Diese Europäische Vornorm ist ein Wörterbuch, das eine Liste von Begriffen und den dazugehörigen Definitionen enthält, die typischerweise für Werkstoffe, Erzeugnisse, Anwendungen, Eigenschaften und Verfahren der Hochleistungskeramik benutzt werden. Das Dokument enthält in separaten Listen die Abkürzungen, welche eine allgemeine Akzeptanz im wissenschaftlichen und technischen Schrifttum gefunden haben; sie werden zusammen mit den entsprechenden Begriffen und Definitionen oder Beschreibungen angegeben.
ANMERKUNG 1 Diese Vornorm enthält keine Begriffe, die mehr allgemeiner Natur und auch in anderen Technologiebereichen wohlbekannt sind, auch wenn sie im Bereich der Hochleistungskeramik benutzt werden.
ANMERKUNG 2 Eine Liste von manchen Europäischen Normen, Europäischen Vornormen und europäischen Norm-Entwürfen des Technischen Komitees CEN/TC184 "Hochleistungskeramik", die Begriffe enthalten, die in dieser Europäischen Vornorm definiert sind, ist in den Literaturhinweisen aufgeführt.

This European Prestandard (ENV) was approved by CEN on 1 August 2002 as a prospective standard for provisional application.
The period of validity of this ENV is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the ENV can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this ENV in the same way as for an EN and to make the ENV available promptly
at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the ENV) until the final
decision about the possible conversion of the ENV into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United
Kingdom.

La présente Prénorme européenne (ENV) a été adoptée par le CEN le 1 août 2002 comme norme expérimentale pour application
provisoire.
La période de validité de cette ENV est limitée initialement à trois ans. Après deux ans, les membres du CEN seront invités à soumettre
leurs commentaires, en particulier sur l'éventualité de la conversion de l'ENV en Norme européenne.
Il est demandé aux membres du CEN d'annoncer l'existence de cette ENV de la même façon que pour une EN et de rendre cette ENV
rapidement disponible au niveau national sous une forme appropriée. Il est admis de maintenir (en parallèle avec l'ENV) des normes
nationales en contradiction avec l'ENV en application jusqu'à la décision finale de conversion possible de l'ENV en EN.
Les membres du CEN sont les organismes nationaux de normalisation des pays suivants: Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique, Danemark,
Espagne, Finlande, France, Grèce, Hongrie, Irlande, Islande, Italie, Luxembourg, Malte, Norvège, Pays-Bas, Portugal, République

Diese Europäische Vornorm (ENV) wurde vom CEN am 1.August 2002 als eine künftige Norm zur vorläufigen Anwendung angenommen.
Die Gültigkeitsdauer dieser ENV ist zunächst auf drei Jahre begrenzt. Nach zwei Jahren werden die Mitglieder des CEN gebeten, ihre
Stellungnahmen abzugeben, insbesondere über die Frage, ob die ENV in eine Europäische Norm umgewandelt werden kann.
Die CEN Mitglieder sind verpflichtet, das Vorhandensein dieser ENV in der gleichen Weise wie bei einer EN anzukündigen und die ENV
auf nationaler Ebene unverzüglich in geeigneter Weise verfügbar zu machen. Es ist zulässig, entgegenstehende nationale Normen bis zur
Entscheidung über eine mögliche Umwandlung der ENV in eine EN (parallel zur ENV) beizubehalten.
CEN-Mitglieder sind die nationalen Normungsinstitute von Belgien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Finnland, Frankreich, Griechenland, Irland,
Island, Italien, Luxemburg, Malta, Niederlande, Norwegen, Österreich, Portugal, Schweden, Schweiz, der Slowakei, Spanien, der
