subject field;
— refraining of mine closure strategy concept system as mine closure process concept system.

Introduction
This vocabulary has been prepared to support the application of concepts presented within mine closure
and reclamation standards, as well as to facilitate effective communication within the subject field of mine
closure and reclamation.
Identified concepts were assessed and filtered based on the following criteria:
— the concept is used within, and considered critical to, ISO mine closure and reclamation standards or
documentation either existing or being prepared;
— the concept is sufficiently important to avoid misunderstanding or ambiguity, such as where an
alternative or conflicting definition exists or is in common use;
— the concept is required to achieve a common understanding within the field of mine closure and
reclamation, including amongst non-experts.
In selecting concepts for inclusion within this standard every effort has been made to avoid:
— general concepts used across, and common to, subject fields other than mine closure and reclamation;
— use of a single term for multiple concepts or multiple terms for a single concept;
— contradictions occurring in terminological entries in other standards prepared under TC 82.

This vocabulary has been prepared to support the application of concepts presented within mine closure and
reclamation standards , as well as to facilitate effective communication within the subject field of mine closure
and reclamation.
Identified concepts were assessed and filtered based on the following criteria:
— — the concept is used within, and considered critical to, ISO mine closure and reclamation standards or
documentation either existing or being prepared;
— — the concept is sufficiently important to avoid misunderstanding or ambiguity, such as where an
alternative or conflicting definition exists or is in common use;
— — the concept is required to achieve a common understanding within the field of mine closure and
reclamation, including amongst non-experts.
In selecting concepts for inclusion within this standard every effort has been made to avoid:
— — general concepts used across, and common to, subject fields other than mine closure and reclamation;

Le présent vocabulaire a été élaboré afin de soutenir l'application des concepts présentés dans les normes
relatives à la fermeture et à la remise en état des mines, et afin de faciliter la communication efficace dans le
domaine de la fermeture et de la remise en état des mines.
Les concepts identifiés ont été évalués et filtrés en fonction des critères suivants:
— le concept est utilisé dans les normes ISO relatives à la fermeture et à la remise en état des mines ou
dans la documentation existante ou en cours d'élaboration et est considéré comme critique pour ces
documents;
— le concept est suffisamment important pour éviter tout malentendu ou toute ambiguïté, notamment
lorsqu'une définition alternative ou en conflit existe ou est couramment utilisée;
— le concept est nécessaire pour parvenir à une compréhension commune dans le domaine de la fermeture
et de la remise en état des mines, y compris parmi les non-experts.
Lors du choix des concepts à inclure dans la présente norme, tout a été fait pour éviter:
— les concepts généraux utilisés dans d'autres domaines et communs à plusieurs domaines autres que la
fermeture et la remise en état des mines;
