IEC 61158-5-10:2014 defines the services provided to the FAL user at the boundary between the user and the application layer of the fieldbus reference model, and Systems Management at the boundary between the application layer and Systems Management of the fieldbus reference model. This standard specifies the structure and services of the IEC fieldbus application layer, in conformance with the OSI Basic Reference Model (ISO/IEC 7498-1) and the OSI application layer structure (ISO/IEC 9545). This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2010 and constitutes a technical revision. The main changes are: - Change from MRP integration to MRP reference; - Integration of dynamic frame packing, fragmentation and fast forwarding; - Integration of autoconfiguration; - Integration of seamless media redundancy MRPD; - Basic integration of the System Redundancy Layer; - Basic integration of the Configure In Run functionality; - Optimization of RT_CLASS_3 startup and forwarding; - Optimization of the startup time from power down; - New fiber cable type GI-PCF; - Removal of MRRT; - Update of the LLDP-EXT-MIB.

L'IEC 61158-5-10:2014 défini les services mis en place pour l'utilisateur de FAL, à la frontière entre l'utilisateur et la couche application du modèle de référence de bus de terrain; et la Gestion des systèmes, à la frontière entre la couche application et la Gestion des systèmes selon le modèle de référence de bus de terrain. La présente norme spécifie la structure et les services de la couche application de bus de terrain IEC, en conformité avec le modèle de référence de base de l'OSI (ISO/CEI 7498-1) et la structure de la couche application de l'OSI (ISO/CEI 9545). Cette troisième édition annule et remplace la deuxième édition parue en 2010. Elle constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications majeures suivantes: - Passage de l'intégration MRP à la référence MRP; - Intégration de la condensation dynamique de trames, de leur fragmentation et de leur transfert rapide; - Intégration de l'autoconfiguration; - Intégration de la redondance de supports sans couture MRPD ("Media Redundancy with Planned Duplication" of frames (Redondance de support avec duplication planifiée des trames)); - Intégration de base de la Couche de redondance du système (System Redundancy Layer); - Intégration de base de la fonctionnalité Configurer pendant le fonctionnement (Configure In Run); - Optimisation du démarrage et transfert RT_CLASS_3; - Optimisation du temps de démarrage à partir de la coupure d'alimentation électrique; - Nouveau type de câble en fibre GI-PCF; - Suppression de MRRT; - Mise à jour du LLDP-EXT-MIB.

1.1 General
Aplikacijski nivo procesnih vodil (FAL) omogoča uporabniškim programom dostop do komunikacijskega okolja procesnih vodil. Glede na to je mogoče aplikacijski nivo procesnih vodil šteti za »okno med ustreznimi aplikacijami«.
Ta standard določa skupne elemente za osnovne časovno kritične in časovno nekritične sporočilne komunikacije med aplikacijami v avtomatizacijskem okolju in material, specifičen za procesna vodila tipa 10. Izraz »časovno kritičen« se uporablja za predstavitev prisotnosti časovnega okna, v okviru katerega se zahteva dokončanje enega ali več opredeljenih dejanj z določeno stopnjo gotovosti. Zaradi neuspešnega dokončanja opredeljenih dejanj v časovnem oknu je možna odpoved aplikacij, ki zahtevajo dejanja, pri čemer so ogroženi oprema, obrat in morda človeška življenja.
Ta standard na abstrakten način določa na zunaj vidno opravilo, ki ga zagotavlja aplikacijski nivo procesnih vodil tipa 10 v smislu
a) abstraktnega modela za določanje aplikacijskih virov (objektov), ki ga lahko upravljajo uporabniki prek opravila aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil,
b) primitivnih dejanj in dogodkov opravila;
c) parametrov, povezanih z vsakim primitivnim dejanjem in dogodkom, ter obliko, ki jo prevzamejo; in
d) medsebojne povezave med temi dejanji in dogodki ter njihovimi veljavnimi zaporedji.
Namen tega standarda je določiti opravila, ki se zagotavljajo za
a) uporabnika aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil na meji med uporabnikom in referenčnim modelom aplikacijskega nivoja procesnega vodila, in
b) upravljanje sistemov na meji med aplikacijskim nivojem in upravljanjem sistemov za referenčni model procesnega vodila.
Ta standard določa strukturo in opravila aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil tipa 10 v skladu z osnovnim referenčnim modelom OSI (ISO/IEC 7498-1) in strukturo aplikacijskega nivoja OSI (ISO/IEC 9545).
Opravila in protokole aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil zagotavljajo aplikacijski osebki (AE) aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil znotraj aplikacijskih procesov. Aplikacijski osebek aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil sestavljata sklop objektno usmerjenih aplikacijskih opravilnih elementov (ASE) in osebek za upravljanje nivojev (LME), ki upravlja aplikacijski osebek. Aplikacijski opravilni elementi zagotavljajo komunikacijska opravila, ki delujejo na sklopu povezanih razredov objektov aplikacijskega procesa (APO). Med aplikacijske opravilne elemente aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil spada aplikacijski opravilni element za upravljanje, ki zagotavlja skupen sklop opravil za upravljanje primerkov razredov aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil.
Čeprav ta opravila določajo način izdajanja in dostavljanja zahtev in odzivov z vidika aplikacij, ne zajemajo specifikacije v zvezi s tem, kako naj se nanje odzovejo aplikacije, ki te zahteve in odzive oddajajo. To pomeni, da vedenjski vidiki aplikacij niso določeni; določena je samo definicija, katere zahteve in odzive lahko pošiljajo/prejemajo. Tako se uporabnikom aplikacijskega nivoja procesnih vodil omogoči večja prilagodljivost pri standardizaciji takega vedenja objektov.
