Fireworks - Part 13: Flash pellets - Specification and test methods

This document specifies requirements for the construction, performance, primary packaging and labelling of flash pellets and the corresponding test methods. It is applicable to fireworks which are classified as flash pellet in categories 1 and 2 in EN 14035-2 which are contained in a primary pack.
It is not applicable to flash pellets containing pyrotechnic composition that includes any of the following substances:
-   arsenic or arsenic compounds;
-   mixtures containing a mass fraction of chlorates greater than 80 %;
-   mixtures of chlorates with metals;
-   mixtures of chlorates with red phosphorus;
-   mixtures of chlorates with potassium hexacyanoferrate(II);
-   mixtures of chlorates with sulfur;
-   mixtures of chlorates with sulfides;
-   lead or lead compounds;
-   mercury compounds;
-   white phosphorus;
-   picrates or picric acid;
-   potassium chlorate with a mass fraction of bromates greater than 0,15 %;
-   sulfur with an acidity, expressed in mass fraction of sulfuric acid, greater than 0,002 %;
-   zirconium with a particle size of less than 40 mm.
NOTE   In EN 14035-2, flash pellets are classified as follows:
- brief description: pellet of intermittently burning pyrotechnic composition;
- principal effect: multiple flashes of light.
Schemes for type testing of flash pellets and batch testing of flash pellets are specified in annex A and annex B respectively.

Feuerwerkskörper - Teil 13: Blitztabletten - Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an die Konstruktion, Funktion, kleinste Verpackungseinheit und Beschriftung von Blitztabletten und die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren fest. Sie gilt für Feuerwerkskörper, die als Blitztabletten in die Kategorien 1 und 2 in der EN 14035-2 eingruppiert sind und die sich in einer Ursprungsverpackung befinden.
Sie gilt nicht für Blitztabletten, die pyrotechnischen Satz enthalten, in dem eine der nachfolgend aufgeführten Substanzen enthalten ist:
-   Arsen und Arsenverbindungen,
-   Blei und Bleiverbindungen,
-   Kaliumchlorat mit einem Massenanteil an Bromaten von mehr als 0,15 %,
-   Mischungen mit einem Massenanteil an Chloraten von mehr als 80 %,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Metallen,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit rotem Phosphor,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Kaliumhexacyanoferrat(II),
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Schwefel,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Sulfiden,
-   Pikrate und Pikrinsäure,
-   Quecksilberverbindungen,
-   weißer Phosphor,
-   Schwefel mit einem Massenanteil an freier Säure (angegeben als H2SO4) von mehr als 0,002 %,
-   Zirkon mit einer Korngröße von weniger als 40 µm.
ANMERKUNG      In EN 14035-2 sind Blitztabletten wie folgt klassifiziert:
? Kurzbeschreibung: Tablette aus intermittierend abbrennendem pyrotechnischen Satz;
? Hauptwirkung: Mehrfache Lichtblitze.
Übersichten für die Typ-Prüfung von Blitztabletten und die Los-Prüfung von Blitztabletten sind in Anhang A beziehungsweise Anhang B angegeben.

Artifices de divertissement - Partie 13: Clignoteur pyrotechnique - Spécifications et méthodes d'essai

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives à la construction, à la performance, à l'emballage et à l'étiquetage du clignoteur pyrotechnique ainsi que les méthodes d'essai correspondantes. Elle s'applique aux artifices de divertissement classés sous le nom de clignoteur pyrotechnique de catégorie 1 et 2 dans le prEN 14035-2 qui sont conditionnés dans un emballage primaire ou  assortiment.
Elle ne s'applique pas dans le cas d'un clignoteur pyrotechnique dont la composition pyrotechnique comprend l'une des substances suivantes :
¾ arsenic ou composés d'arsenic ;
¾ mélanges contenant une fraction en masse de chlorates supérieure à 80 % ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de métaux ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de phosphore rouge ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et d'hexacyanoferrate (II) de potassium ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de soufre ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de sulfures ;
¾ plomb ou composés de plomb ;
¾ composés de mercure ;
¾ phosphore blanc ;
¾ picrates ou acide picrique ;
¾ chlorate de potassium comprenant une fraction en masse de bromates supérieure à 0,15 % ;
¾ soufre ayant une acidité (en H2SO4) supérieure à 0,002 % ;
¾ zirconium ayant une granulométrie inférieure à 40 mm.
NOTE   Dans le prEN 14035-2, le clignoteur pyrotechnique est classé comme suit.
¾ Description abrégée : pastille de composition pyrotechnique à combustion intermittente.
¾ Effet principal : Eclairs successifs.
Les schémas d'essais de type et d'essais de lot du clignoteur pyrotechnique sont respectivement spécifiés dans l'annexe A et l'annexe B.

Conformity to this requirement shall be verified by visual examination. 4.2 Attachment of initial fuse (if any) For flash pellets with protruding fuse, the attachment of the initial fuse to the flash pellet shall be secure when tested in accordance with 8.1. For flash pellets with ignition head, the attachment of the ignition head to the flash pellet shall be secure when tested in accordance with 8.2. 4.3 Protection of flash pellet The flash pellet shall be contained in a primary pack conforming to 6. Conformity to this requirement shall be verified by visual examination.
