Wood-based panels - Performance specifications and requirements for load bearing boards for use in floors, walls and roofs
This European Standard specifies the performance requirements and the procedure for demonstrating compliance, through type testing, of load-bearing wood-based panels fitted on:
a) structural joists for decking:
- in flooring applications in categories of use A, B, C and D;
- in roof applications in categories of use H and I;
for which type testing involves:
- punching shear under concentrated loading;
- vertically dropped soft body impact;
b) studs for walling application for which type testing involves:
- racking behaviour;
- pendular soft body impact.
This European Standard also provides a calculation method related to soft overlays that may be installed on roofs or floors with uniform loading.
NOTE Soft body impact, addressing safety matters both during construction and in service, is defined in EN 1990 and EN 1991-1.
Annex A (normative) lists the contact areas of the loading heads that may be used for concentrated loading.
Annex B (informative) provides examples for a decking application in a floor and a roof.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Leistungsanforderungen und ein Verfahren für den Nachweis der Über-einstimmung durch Bauartprüfung für tragende Holzwerkstoffe fest, die folgendermaßen befestigt sind:
a) an tragenden Lagerhölzern:
- in Unterbodensystemen der Nutzungskategorien A, B, C und D;
- in Dachsystemen der Nutzungskategorien H und I;
für die die Bauartprüfung Folgendes umfasst:
- Stanzscherfestigkeit bei Punktbelastung;
- senkrecht erfolgender weicher Stoß;
b) Rippen für Wandsysteme, für die die Bauartprüfung Folgendes umfasst:
- Wandscheibenverhalten;
- pendelnder weicher Stoß.
Diese Europäische Norm gibt außerdem ein Berechnungsverfahren für weiche Bedeckungen an, die auf Dächern oder Fußböden mit einheitlicher Last verlegt sein können.
ANMERKUNG Der weiche Stoß, der sich mit Sicherheitsfragen während des Baus und Betriebs befasst, wird in EN 1990 und in EN 1991-1 (alle Teile) festgelegt.
Anhang A (normativ) führt die Kontaktflächen der Last mit den Prüfstempeln auf, die zur Punktbelastung verwendet werden kann.
Anhang B (informativ) enthält Beispiele für Unterboden- und Dachschalungssysteme.

La présente Norme européenne prescrit les exigences fonctionnelles et présente un mode opératoire destiné à démontrer la conformité, par des essais de type, des panneaux travaillants placés sur :
a) Solives pour platelage
- Pour des applications en planchers dans les catégories d’utilisation A, B, C et D ;
- Pour des applications en toitures dans les catégories d’utilisation H et I ;
Pour lesquelles l’essai de type implique :
- Cisaillement par poinçonnement sous charge concentrée ;
- Chute vertical d’un corps mou ;
b) Poteaux pour application en murs pour lesquels l’essai de type implique :
- Le comportement du contreventement,
- Le choc pendulaire d’un corps mou.
La présente norme européenne fournit également une méthode de calcul concernant les matériaux de revêtement souples qui peuvent être installés sur les toitures et les planchers sous charge uniforme.
NOTE Le choc d’un corps mou, traitant des questions de sécurité tant au cours de la construction qu’en service, est défini dans l’EN 1990 et l’EN 1991-1.
L’Annexe A (normative) donne une liste des zones de contact des têtes de charge qui peuvent être utilisée comme charge concentrée.
L’Annexe B (informative) fournit des exemples d’application de platelage en planchers et toitures.

The second approach is to design the structure by type testing in order to satisfy the requirements for both impact and concentrated loading. This approach yields an optimised design since the results from the testing apply only to that one specific design.
