Foreword

This first edition cancels and replaces the part of the edition (ISO 3964:2016 + Amd 1:2018), which has been
technically revised.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

— addition of new dimensions and optional figures

1 Scope
This document specifies the coupling between handpieces and motors, which is not equipped with electronic
terminal(s), connected to dental units.
This document specifies the nominal dimensions, tolerances, and the extraction force of coupling systems for
use between handpiece and motor which supply the handpiece with water, air and light and rotation energy.
